Listening to Enrich Relationships
We want you to get the most out of our online courses and be fully present at each session. The following guidance is to ensure you, and your fellow delegates, have the best experience.
preparation
The workshop will be held via Zoom. In preparation for this we ask that you download and create your own free Zoom account if you don’t already have one. This can be done via www.zoom.us (if you need any assistance please let us know).
You can then familiarise yourself with the platform e.g. how to switch your microphone and camera on and off and how to switch from Gallery to Speaker view etc. This should then minimise any technical difficulties we have on the day and ensure that we run as smoothly as we can (technology allowing of course!).
Please ensure that you have suitable technical equipment, headphones and a quiet space with adequate internet facilities to ensure you are to participate fully.
session access
Use the link provided in your Joining Instruction email above to register in advance for the workshop. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you do not register you will not be able to join the meeting.
Online session etiquette
- find a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted and have a good internet connection
- consider disabling any sites that have notifications, so you won’t be disturbed or disturb others during the call.
- Please ensure your camera is on. Keeping cameras on during our training sessions is a vital part of creating a safe, connected, and engaging learning environment. When we are visible to one another, we listen not only with our ears but also with our eyes, paying attention to body language and expressions that foster deeper understanding. This visibility builds trust, encourages openness, and strengthens the sense of community within the group. We understand there may be moments when cameras need to be switched off briefly for self-care, and we fully respect that, but we ask that cameras remain on for the majority of the session to honour both your own learning and the shared experience of the group.
- be sure to mute your mic (lower-left corner of your screen) as soon as you sign on and whenever you are not speaking. This is important to avoid background noise and distractions for others.
- during 1-2-1 demonstrations we may ask you to switch off your camera to avoid unnecessary distractions.
- close unneeded applications on your computer to keep the video optimally functioning and to prevent notifications that may break your focus.
- you might want to use a headset with an external mic for best hearing and speaking capabilities.
- when you are speaking, let others know that you are finished by saying one of these sign-offs: “That’s all.” “I’m done.” “Thank you.” So that everyone knows you have finished your comments.
- be mindful of your background lighting. If you are sitting in front of a window, you may be completely darkened by the light coming through the window. Your overhead light also might need to be turned off or dimmed as well.
- be sure that there is nothing visually distracting (e.g., cars or people going by) in the background too.
- remember to sign out or “leave the meeting” when the session is finished.
cancellation
MOE Foundation do not accept responsibility for any accident, injury or loss suffered by delegates while attending the course, unless it is due to negligence on its part. MOE Foundation reserve the right to amend or cancel the programme content, time, venue, trainers and date of the event. In the unlikely event of the cancellation of the course, the delegate will be refunded in full, but MOE Foundation will not be held liable for any costs delegates may incur as a result of such a cancellation.
There will be no refund given if the delegate cancels or does not complete the course after the start of the course.
film and photo policy
We take photos and make short videos of the MOE events and training sessions. We use the photos and videos on our website, social media sites and in news and publicity materials to inform others about the MOE Foundation; to promote services and other events; to communicate important news to members of the MOE Community; and to provide information to individuals and organisations in the wider community.
We take photos and video at events that often involve large groups of people, some of whom may be visitors. This makes it impossible, on a practical level, to obtain the consent of every person that might appear in a photograph or video clip, and to try to do so would be unmanageable. Instead, we have adopted an approach that informs those who come to events that we take and use photographs and have put in place clear procedures to safeguard the rights of those who appear in photographs. MOE foundation respects your personal privacy and we will never intentionally misuse your personal data, information and/or image. To ask for an image to be removed or edited, or to ask for a copy of the full Film and Photo Policy please contact sue@moefoundation.com
