Information

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches delegates how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

What you’ll learn in this course

The course is jam-packed with additional, practical resources! In this course, you’ll learn to:

  • recognise warning signs of mental ill health,
  • develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe and establishing boundaries,
  • gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you.

By becoming an MHFAider® you’ll have access to continuous support – well beyond your initial certification – so you are confident, empowered and motivated to carry out your role. You will get three years’ access to MHFAider® support and benefits which includes 24/7 digital support through the MHFAider Support App®. From there, you will find exclusive resources, ongoing learning opportunities and the benefit of joining England’s largest community of trained MHFAiders®.

Resources

Once you have registered for the course you will receive a copy of the manual (online only) , a workbook (online and physical copy), a MHFA Lanyard, and details of how to access to the MHFA App.

On completion of the course you will receive a digital badge, a certificate and access to the materials for a period of 3 years.

Although we welcome everyone globally to attend the course, please note that this course is run by MHFA England and therefore certification is only recognised within the United Kingdom.  Physical materials cannot be sent out to those outside of the United Kingdom.

The course is recognised by the UK Government and they are working together with MHFA England, the largest provider of Mental Health First Aid in the UK, to get 1 in 10 in the workplace to be a Mental Health First Aider.
